Meet Our Students
Akeeliah Ashton
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) of St. Vincent and the Grenadines held its annual iCode784 Competition Grand Finale on November 18, 2022. The competition focuses on the importance of idea creation and the possibilities that can develop from the seeds of innovation that are planted in the minds of our young people.
The winner of this year's Secondary Idea Category is Union Island Secondary School (UISS), represented by Akeeliah Ashton and Derissa James. Their winning idea is to develop an app called She-Alert, which features an alert system that calls for help in situations where women and girls feel that they are in danger.
Akeeliah is one of VincyCares scholarship recipients, who continues to make us all proud! Congratulations to Akeeliah and Derissa. Well done!
We currently have a total of twenty-nine (29) scholarships (including secondary and tertiary). We are extremely proud of the progress of all our students, especially in these different and difficult times.
