The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) of St. Vincent and the Grenadines held its annual iCode784 Competition Grand Finale on November 18, 2022. The competition focuses on the importance of idea creation and the possibilities that can develop from the seeds of innovation that are planted in the minds of our young people.

The winner of this year's Secondary Idea Category is Union Island Secondary School (UISS), represented by Akeeliah Ashton and Derissa James. Their winning idea is to develop an app called She-Alert, which features an alert system that calls for help in situations where women and girls feel that they are in danger.

Akeeliah is one of VincyCares scholarship recipients, who continues to make us all proud! Congratulations to Akeeliah and Derissa. Well done!

Angelique Henry

The GHS welcomed its new students last Thursday in an auspicious orientation that boasted the school's inaugural "tie ceremony". Interim prefects symbolically welcomed their 'little sisters' to the GHS family as they tied their ties for them while all were serenaded by the sweet sounds of Mr. Darron Andrews on violin.

This photo depicts Prefect, Angelique Henry, one of our scholarship recipients tying a new student’s tie.

In other news, Angelique wrote Mathematics for CXC in Form 4, and obtained the top grade of (1). She will be taking an additional 10 subjects in 2023. We are so proud of her!
